Facebook and Child Abuse Awareness
Recently on Facebook everyone is changing their profile pictures to cartoons, in order to raise awareness for Child Abuse. This is my response to all of this:
I updated my status to say:
_MY Name_ is that nonconformist, sarcastic, hippie chick, that debates holidays, and has an opinion on just about everything. See Daria, see Lisa Simpson; see me not changing my profile picture to a cartoon. That’s a lazy way to make yourself feel like you are actually doing something. If you want to help children, volunteer, be a role model, be a mentor, be a teacher, counselor, give back in a more constructive way. That’s what I plan on doing. I want to make a lasting difference. How about you? Anyone want to join me? Don’t fool yourself, don’t change your profile picture, change a life.
